PAIR OF ANDIRONS WITH LIONS IN CHISELLED AND GILT BRONZE
Large pair of andirons in gilt bronze and finely chiseled Louis XVI. They are surmounted by a lion and a lioness lying on a drapery decorated with trimmings facing fire pots. The animals are very elaborate with sinewy limbs, detailed manes and exposed teeth. The base is decorated with foliage. The whole rests on three tapered legs with rings and ending in balls.
